Andrea Lehman Ganser's Letter

Dear Honorable Immigration Judge:

I am writing this letter in support of Pedro Perez Guzman (Pedro) as he seeks to be released from the custody of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

I know Pedro through my close friend, Emily Nelson Guzman (Emily), who is Pedro’s wife and mother of his son, Logan. I have known Emily since 1995 when we were roommates together before starting college. She is a kind, smart, and caring woman, and I am lucky to have her as a friend.

Both Emily and Pedro are wonderful people and even better friends. I was honored to be share in their wedding day in 2004. Since that time, they have been blessed with a beautiful son, and together, they make a strong and loving family.

Pedro is a uniquely committed father. He spends so much time with Logan everyday, watching him when Emily has to work. Pedro adores Logan and Logan adores Pedro. Logan is only three years old and being without his dad has been very difficult for him. Losing him would be devastating to both him and Emily. It would truly be a tragedy if this family were split apart.

I urge you to carefully consider this case and hope that your decision will result in keeping this close family together.

Sincerely,

Andrea Lehmann Ganser
